About Us
Founder, Lisa LaFond, has been providing payroll and accounting solutions, and financial consulting to small businesses in Northern Michigan since 2001. While working as a liaison between accounting clients and large, national payroll providers like Paychex, Lisa identified several problematic recurring issues which were not serving her clients well. These included frequent account rep turn-over, lack of communication, failure to flag potential issues, difficulty in rectifying issues, rigid timelines, and information overload. In essence, these big-box providers weren’t providing much more than a high-tech, extremely expensive payroll calculator. Her clients still needed to possess a working knowledge about the nuances of payroll to remain compliant, or hire an accountant or bookkeeper with the knowledge, thus adding further additional costs onto the already over-priced service.
Wage-EZ was created to solve all of these issues, while providing the personalized professional service that small businesses deserve, and at the same time saving them time and money.
